Knowing your origins, understanding your culture, being aware of the limiting beliefs on a cultural level is an important part of understanding yourself!
When we are kids, we taking on values and beliefs not only of our parents, but our society as well.
And as the term cultural trauma is widely known, not everyone understands it comes with sets of limiting beliefs. Also, the beliefs that we take from our parents are not always theirs as well, but passed down generations before them!
And it is one of the most human things we have, as that was helping our ancestors survive many years ago and these things do not adopt as quickly as social transformation does.
And only coming to live across the ocean helped me realise how deeply they influence our lives!
At first it was shocking when I said phrase as " well, you know how we all...[fill the blank]" people would respond "No I do not". But now it gets easier and gets me curious to learn more when I come across such thought in conversation.
And now, more than ever, I am eager to know about my culture of origins, to teach it to my kids. To explore and understand what stands behind this thought, why it was that way and if it is a true in modern life?
Only being aware of such thing we can do something about them!
And it actually can be transferred to a personal beliefs as well.
Ask yourself what you usually accompany with the phrase "You know like we all..." and see where it leads you!
And if you need help in exploring your belief system, I am here to help! Book a discovery session. Let's start your journey!
